About Linda

Linda Pomerantz Zhang is a Los Angeles-based photographer with an academic background in Asian Studies. She received her Ph.D. degree from UCLA specializing in nineteenth and twentieth century Chinese history. At California State University Dominguez Hills Linda taught history, Asian Studies and interdisciplinary courses in humanities and social sciences. She is Professor Emerita of History and currently teaches in the Humanities M.A. External Degree program at Dominguez Hills. She continues to conduct research in Chinese history and culture.

Since 2007 she has taken photography classes and workshops at Julia Dean Photo Workshops in Venice, CA, at Santa Monica College, and online through Betterphoto.com. Her work has been shown at Julia Dean Photo Workshops "Show Off" exhibitions.

Linda's photography represents her diverse interests in depicting the world around her, but with special emphasis on contemporary China, which is based on her experience and knowledge of Chinese society and culture.
